If you have ever played ANY kind of game with me it won't take long for you to know that I am seriously playing to win. I just have a very competitive spirit. I don't start anything expecting to loose...
2 examples
1. You can ask my children this, keep in mind I'm 43, I have even went so far as to have my wrist sprang (it hurt for months, by the way...) because I didn't want to say peanuckle while playing the game with one of her friends.
2. We took a family vacation with my family to the beach in 2008. We played corn hole every evening. My little brother is pretty good at the game so all of the kids wanted to be on his team. So to make it fair and competitive, we drew numbers for teams every night before the tournament.
I looked at my dad and said, "Why are we all so competitive?" He said, "Because I never taught any of you to play a game to loose. I always wanted you to play to win."
That statement made me think about the events of my life...
As I pondered my life I couldn't think of anything I ever done that I didn't try to be the very best.
This same competitive spirit should also go throughout our spiritual lives. Just like my dad, our heavenly Father wants us to win. He has already made us winners by giving us salvation through Jesus Christ.
We should have the confidience in knowing that we can accomplish ANYTHING our heavenly Father leads us to do for Him. He doesn't want us to live defeated lives.
Everyone has a different game of LIFE to play. Play it with confidience knowing that you can win before you even begin...
I Corinthians 9:24..."Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So, run, that ye may obtain."
