Proverbs 17:22..." A merry (joyful) heart doeth good a like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."
I once heard a statement that a good belly laugh during the day is good for your health. I don't know if that is a proven fact or not, but it sure is good for me. If it doesn't help my health it helps my spirit so it's a win/win situation either way, right? I love to laugh.
A friend who has really been an encouragement to me this year sent me an email today that was really funny. It had this monkey asking his mother a question...well anyway at the end of it I truly laughed out loud...
I thought to myself, "Why don't I laugh like that more often?" I have the joy of the Lord inside of me so why should I walk around like I've just had a green persimmon?
I know the Bible also tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:4 that there are times for other emotional down settings. I know that God allows us time for that, but let's think about our everyday normal activity. There's nothing wrong with living in the joy that God has provided for us.
Take time to have a good belly laugh today...it might just rub off on someone else.
