Hats Off to Young People

One thing I have always loved throughout my adult life is young people. I enjoy having them around and trying to be an encouragement to them.

But as I look out sometimes I see that they are not appreciated for what they can bring to the table whether in their families or in our church congregations. I think sometimes they are misunderstood and overlooked. Usually it's not intentional, but it is a lack of knowledge of what they have to offer for some people.

Young people bring life to any group of people. They bring laughter and light. I think often we forget that we were once young and had our own struggles too. We tend to be judgemental, instead of trying to lead them in the way that they should go. We try to tell them what to do, but never show them how to do it. We tell them to have goals, but never offer to help them accomplish them.

God wants us to embrace and love. I would like to challenge anyone who is a parent or an adult who have young people around them, to encourage them and love them. Be patient with the issues they have to go through, you probably could help them out because you were once there yourself. Love them, encourage them and see through their flaws.

Because youth is life...and maybe sometimes we need to sit back and see what they have to bring to the table. We may be surprised!
