"Lemonade...Who Wants It?"

I've often heard the statement...When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That's a fun little phrase, but often it is hard to do.

I remember when my kids were little, I would have a yard sale and they were so excited about setting up a lemonade stand. They would make me buy all of the ingredients; lemons, lemon squeezer, ice, sugar and of course there was the poster board to make the signs and cups. They would get up early the morning of the sale, set up their table and were so excited about all of the money they were going to make that day. That lasted about 30 minutes, then they got hot, bored and didn't want to do the work it took to make the lemonade. Therefore their stand was not very successful.

That's how it is in life sometimes. Just think about lemons, they are sour to eat. Just like life, sometimes people and situations are just down right sour. You've got to learn how to make lemonade. How do you make something so wonderful to drink out of something so sour?

Well, you have to have the right ingredients; lemons, a lemon squeezer, just the right amount of sugar and some ice. When life gives you lemons, do you have what it takes to make lemonade?

Obviously, the lemons are the problems, we all have plenty of them. The lemon squeezer is the guts or confidence we have to face the obstacles in our way. To make lemonade, we cannot let lack of intestinal fortitude or laziness overcome our ultimate goal in life. It takes courage and work to be the person you intend to become. Lemons, sour things, are bound to pop up in life. Have courage to face them. Sugar, kindness, just the right amount. A little kindness goes a long way. Lots of problems in life sometimes can be solved by just a little kindness, understanding. Especially when it comes to marital or family problems. A little sugar goes a long way. Lastly, the ice, the ability to cool it down and bring the flavors all together. Can you get a hold on your problems? Can you cool down and pull yourself together?

In life, you've got to learn to make lemonade to be successful.

Lemonade...Who wants it? When life gives you lemons, can you make lemonade? It's a nice refreshing drink on a hot summer day.
